Description
The lighthouse at Alki is a fully operational lighthouse that is tended by the U.S. Coast Guard. It sits at an angle to Elliott Bay and downtown Seattle and performs a significant function for the busy marine traffic heading toward the Port of Tacoma. The lighthouse itself is completely surrounded by city - apartments, businesses, busy pedestrian paths - but is infrequently open to the public. This image was shot over a security fence. The snow-covered Olympic Mountain Range is visible to the west.

We welcome this lovely photo to The 200 Club, a "rising star" photography group in which only a select few are featured. It is my pleasure to feature desirable art work like this. Congratulations on your well-deserved feature and on your hundreds of views.

Beautiful photo! The crisp lines of the lighthouse in contrast to the patterns of the tree branches, together with wonderful colors combine to make this a stunning image! L
