Artist's Description
The lighthouse at Alki is a fully operational lighthouse that is tended by the U.S. Coast Guard. It sits at an angle to Elliott Bay and downtown Seattle and performs a significant function for the busy marine traffic heading toward the Port of Tacoma. The lighthouse itself is completely surrounded by city - apartments, businesses, busy pedestrian paths - but is infrequently open to the public. This image was shot over a security fence. The snow-covered Olympic Mountain Range is visible to the west.
About E Faithe Lester
Faithe specializes in landscapes, seascapes, weathered structures, lighthouses, some macro floral photography, objects as art and abstracts from nature. She primarily shoots during the beginning and ending of daylight hours, seeks the off-beaten path, loves to catch reflections in quiet waters, and is delighted when her in-the-camera images satisfy her critical eye with only limited post-production touch-ups. Creating specialty note cards for clients is satisfying work, as well. With all rights reserved, U.S. and International Copyright Laws protect all photographic images on this website. Without specific, written permission from the artist, E. Faithe Lester, the images may not be copied, reproduced, manipulated or used in any way.
