Description
Kailua Beach is on the windward coast of the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. Using one of three cross-island routes that tunnel through the mountains, it is a 30-minute drive from Waikiki. This sunrise image captured local residents and tourists out for a pre-dawn walk on the sandy shore of Kailua Bay. Some were stretching on a rocky bluff, others strolling along the shore of the turquoise water. The sky was bright from the morning sun and appeared to be an inferno of a gas fire in the clouds.
