In western Washington State, Hydrangea are at their prime in the month of August. Many of the blooms dry right on the stems as they shift from their original bright color to some faded shade of the same or even different color. This was one of just a few blossoms left on a bush in September that were still bright blue. The remaining plant was full of dry blossoms with more of a reddish-purple hue. Hydrangea can be tricky to cut fresh and successfully dry; beautiful when achieved.
Faithe specializes in landscapes, seascapes, weathered structures, lighthouses, some macro floral photography, objects as art and abstracts from nature. She primarily shoots during the beginning and ending of daylight hours, seeks the off-beaten path, loves to catch reflections in quiet waters, and is delighted when her in-the-camera images satisfy her critical eye with only limited post-production touch-ups.
