Description

An empty bench waits in the dark at Alki Beach Park for spectators to come, sit and appreciate the view. The skyline of Seattle (Washington State's largest city,) is especially bright during the nights just following Christmas and the shortest days of the year. Many of the skyscrapers, shore-side businesses and apartment dwellers have added extra lights for the holiday season. The reflective waters of Elliott Bay appear calm and quiet while lights on the shore symbolize activity, energy and movement. In the water just opposite the silhouetted bench, slowly moves a commercial boat that has departed the Port of Seattle.
