Description
This native of Brazil hasn't decided whether to declare itself pink or red. It shares a terracotta pot with another Christmas cactus that is decidedly more red. This plant faithfully blooms in December in time for Christmas. It frequently blooms for Thanksgiving and Easter, as well. Christmas cactus are also known as Holiday cactus. With the scientific name of Schlumbergera, they are native to the coastal mountains of south-eastern Brazil. They are easy to care for; like other cacti and succulents, they prefer to have dry soil in between sparse watering, avoid the direct sun, and set blooms if placed in a cool dark environment during the first two months of early fall. This Christmas cactus would make a lovely card, throw pillow or any of the large print images. It's ready for the discriminating collector and decorator to enhance personal and business spaces.

Your Christmas cactus is obviously much healthier than mine! I heard of one once that someone had had for YEARS, and which had gotten really large. This is a beautiful photo, so graceful and flowing
