Description
For several months during the last quarter of 2014 and beginning of 2015, west coast longshoremen and transport owners engaged in a contract conflict that resulted in work slowdowns, lock outs, and many large container ships sitting at anchor. The results were devastating to farmers, independent shop keepers, and a multitude of other businesses that could neither ship nor receive essential products and supplies. These container ships are two of the fleet that international shipper Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation has in ports all over the world. The location for these ships, as they awaited dock time at either the Port of Seattle or the Port of Tacoma in the Puget Sound waters of Washington State, was sheltered water near the little hamlet of Manchester.

Really appreciated your explanation of this problem with the ships, Faithe. I hope that the tentative agreement becomes a permanent one.

Great shot. We are 45 minutes from Ports of LB/LA... what a mess. Between that and good getting stuck by storms in the mid-west and eastern states..... Good grief>>

We're more than ready to see them start moving out. A tentative agreement was reached on Friday.
