Artist's Description
Feral chickens are part of the landscape on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. Prior attempts at managing and controlling the chicken population proved to be expensive, ineffective and diverted resources from other essential community needs. Complaints about chickens reflect the hens clucking at all hours of the night and roosters too eager to announce the beginning of new days. This rooster was taking his morning water from a rain puddle in a parking lot. He was undaunted by the skim of motor oil floating on the surface.
